Google Expands AI Use With New AI Mode in Search

Google AI

Google іs integrating artificial intelligence more deeply into its products, and one оf the latest developments іs the introduction оf an AI Mode for Google Search. This new feature builds оn existing AI Overviews and aims tо enhance the search experience by allowing users tо ask more complex, nuanced questions.

AI Mode: A Conversation-Based Search Experience

The AI Mode leverages a custom version of Gemini 2.0 to provide more advanced responses, offering better reasoning and multimodal capabilities. Unlike traditional Google Search, which can struggle with complicated queries, the AI Mode allows users to ask follow-up questions and dive deeper into their searches.

Expanding AI Features and Access

Along with the new AI Mode, Google is expanding AI Overviews, which will be powered by Gemini 2.0. These Overviews will assist with more challenging queries, including coding, advanced math, and multimodal questions. The feature will also be accessible to more people, including teenagers, and users no longer need to be signed in to view AI Overviews in search results.

AI Mode’s Premium Access and Future Potential

Currently, Google’s AI Mode is available exclusively to Google One AI Premium subscribers, meaning users will need to pay a subscription fee for access. Although still in its experimental phase, Google sees AI Mode as a crucial step in maintaining its leadership in the AI search space, especially with competitors like ChatGPT and Perplexity offering similar features.
